After exactly 1 year and 5 days we are back on the platform for an official race, the unique test of regional qualification Assoluti, the first weekend of competitions dedicated to the male foil and the female epée.
Despite everything – buffers to do, entry only for athletes, qualified technicians – it was an emotion to finally get down on the platform to confront the opponents. A round of applause goes regardless of all the athletes and athletes who participated and the technical staff, patient and helpful.
Let’s start from the male foil that saw the debut in the Absolutes category of our three cadets: Luca Lattuada, Akash Nitti and Simone Pezzuto. A tough race, especially after a year without a race, but important for the experience close Luca in 49th place, 52nd Simone and 57th Akash.
In the female epée important presence of the Bresso Girls: 14 athletes at the start and 3 athletes who reach the final to 8. Congratulations to Matilde Busnelli, 5th, Francesca Cattaneo 6th and Marta Castigliola 8th. A very hard race that has seen several direct confrontations unfortunately three of our same athletes: Beatrice Ayres, 12th, Sveva Chendi, 14th, Giulia Zalum, 17th, Sara Zanardo, 19th, Gaia Di Benedetto, 26th, Anna Gennari, 27th, Noemi Guastella, 52nd ,Giorgia De Gaetano, 56th, Elisa Chinnici, 66th, Benedetta Fischetti, 70th and Odelia Petersen-Mahrt 80th.
They qualify for the national competition Women’s epée Assoluti, in addition to Giulia Pasquali and Arianna Scollo, athletes of national interest: Matilde Busnelli, Francesca Cattaneo, Marta Castigliola and Beatrice Ayres.
